For this competition I would like you to photograph any scene you like over a period of time at regular intervals. These intervals I leave for you to decide. However, I suggest intervals such as 10 minutes, 1 hour, 24 hours, 1 week or one month. There is plenty of scope. Intervals do not have to be equal but it is probably a good idea to have some plan.
For subjects various things come to mind but you can probably think of many others. Ideas such as :-
As you may have to leave the site for long periods of time, carefully note the settings on the tripod and, if possible, mark the exact position of the tripod legs on the ground.
You can enter as many times as you like either slides or prints. I want to see at least 4 pictures in a set. You can mount your print entries in any fashion. There will be no size restrictions. For example you could assemble lots of colourful prints on one mount board, or maybe have several individual prints. It is up to you as long as it shows how the passage of time affects the subject.
I hope that in pursuing this competition you will also find great pleasure and enjoyment in partaking. You may get involved in some fascinating experiences. So if you have some interesting stories to tell then let us know. We could get them published in Exposure magazine, the publication of the Southern Photographic Federation, if you like.
Best of Luck to those taking part. Peter
