Mary Luckham Trophy 2009/10

This is the third year that I have set the annual summer competition and I have again tried to set a subject that I feel everybody can apply themselves to.
I have always been attracted to images that have a definite pattern content. This doesn’t have to be a strong obvious pattern (although these usually have a high impact), a subtle use of pattern within an image can be equally exciting.
There are many types of pattern that can be photographed, from naturally occurring to accidentally occurring to deliberately occurring. The main thread of all of these is that there is a repeated pattern or design within the composition of the image.
The following are just some ideas for you to consider, there are many more.

I hope that you enjoy the challenge. You can enter up to three images, but they must have been taken between today’s date and the date of the judging evening.
