Clubz Newsletter

clubbz.com

Hi Salisbury Camera club members,

Welcome to the first edition of the Clubbz.com newsletter. The simple way to keep up to date with any recent changes and developments so that your club can get the best out of Clubbz!

Over 1000 clubs are now benefitting...

Having launched at the start of June, we´ve already attracted more than 1000 clubs, covering a wide range of activities and past times.

It´s been a busy couple of months and we have been working hard on developing enhanced functionality and new features for the clubs listed and ease of use for the users wishing to find them. Many Thanks for the feedback and suggestions, much of which has helped us provide a more efficient and slick service.

Find your club in multiple communities...

Squash & Tennis Club? Clubs can now be a member of multiple communities, so that you will always be found in the right places! We have also gone one step further and created a detailed search facility, i.e. you can now find clubs tagged with Match fishing where they previously only showed Fishing. Make sure your club has all the relevant tags. Need a bit more help? Click here.

Photo Galleries

Photo Galleries

A recent addition to the list of club features is the photo galleries, giving your club the chance to share experiences from recent achievements to the latest social get together! Many clubs are now show casing their clubs via the galleries and we would like to invite you to show off your club!

Keep everyone up to date...

News and Events on your club page are a great way of keeping your members & fans up to date as well as attracting a few new ones. Invite them to your Clubbz page so that they can receive the latest gossip by email! Want the world to know about your events? Add them to Clubbz and we will make sure external event listing sites know about them.

We would like to say a BIG thank you for joining us and together we can help to make it easier for people to get involved.

Scott Kelby World Wide Walk

Dear All,
As you are all no doubt aware, Scott Kelby is a globally recognised and respected Photoshop for Photography expert.
On July the 18th, I and others from Ginkgo Studios will be hosting a UK part of Scott's and NAPP's global event - Scott Kelby's World Wide Photo Walk 2009.
As you and your members are all obviously extremely enthusiastic about photography, I'd like to offer your members the opportunity to apply for a place prior to the official launch at the end of this week for entries.
Places are limited to 50 and will be chosen on a first come, first served basis. To apply for a place click on this link or go to http://worldwidephotowalk.com/winchester-en-uk/. And for more information on the global event, prizes that are available and the drive behind why we are doing this, have a look at the global site http://worldwidephotowalk.com.
There is also a walk on the same day in Southampton and Portsmouth and lots of other places in the UK. For Southampton go to http://worldwidephotowalk.com/southampton-en-uk/
There are no costs associated with this event, apart from any you may incur as part of your travel and refreshments. This is for the love of the discipline and the ability to meet and share with new like minded people.
Best regards,
Stewart.

Fovant Badges Society

Please let me introduce myself. I am the PR/Newsletter Officer for the Fovant Badges Society. As you probably know, we are a charity charged with preserving the scheduled war memorials that are the Fovant badges and with educating the public about the badges and their history. To this end, we produce an annual newsletter and as editor I am always looking for new ways of illustrating the badges in the landscape.
Last winter we had a fair amount of snow and I am very interested in obtaining a copy of any pictures that were taken of Fovant Down and the badges that captured these fairly rare wintry conditions. My attempts were sadly very poor. I wonder if I could trouble you to ask your members if they have taken any pictures that might be suitable for inclusion in the 2009 newsletter? Please give me a call if you would like to know a little more about the Society

OPEN SHUTTER is an open competition for photographers run by The Photographers Lounge, a dedicated photography gallery. Twice a year, a panel of judges will review national and international photographic submissions. Three winners will then be selected to participate in the OPEN SHUTTER Showcase, a month long exhibition at The Photographers Lounge gallery in Dorset. Kicking off with a trademark opening view, these showcases will attract art and photography lovers from all over the country, and works will also be for sale on the Photographers Lounge website.

THE OPEN PHOTOGRAPHIC SOCIETY

Dear Photographic Society representative,

THE OPEN PHOTOGRAPHIC SOCIETY

This email is directed to you because your name was found on your local photographic society's website. Should you no longer be in your photographic club role, I should be most grateful if you would please forward the message to the appropriate person.

I am sending this message to let the members of your club know about the recent launch of the Open Photographic Society (OPS) - a free, non-profit-making, on-line photographic society which offers numerous free services. OPS offers:
masses of information on all aspects of photography;
on-line evaluation of images to help win competitions;
a programme of photographic book publishing for amateur photographers;
an annual on-line photographic exhibition;
free photographic discussion forums;
free web-hosting space for personal and specialist image galleries (a small one-off set-up fee applies); and
free web-hosting space for successful distinction galleries.
The new website has already received over half a million hits in its short life, and is attracting interest from all over the English-speaking world.

Please would you be good enough to make this information available to your members. The new website is at openphotographicsociety.org (with the usual prefixes) and links to your own club site can be incorporated upon request.

Regards,

Rod Macmillan FRPS FRGS

President of OPS
